FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
- Feast this Week :
Tuesday, 3rd December: St. Francis Xavier, Patron of the Archdiocese.
Saturday, 7th December: St. Ambrose - We thank all those participated in the Feast of Christ the King especially those who conducted the adoration, prayers and Procession together with those who made all the arrangements at the Velankanni Recreation Center.
- Those attending the one-day retreat at the Dominican Retreat Centre at Igatpuri on Saturday, 7th December are reminded that the bus will leave the Church at 5 am.
- Today we begin the Season of Advent. The candles on the Advent Wreath will be lit at the 8 am Mass during the Sunday’s of Advent.
- Friday, 6th December is the First Friday of the Month. Half Hour Adoration at 6.30 pm conducted by Holy Family Community followed by the Evening Mass.
- Parishioners are reminded of the Advent Campaign against Hunger and Disease. The Funds raised every year help to support the poor tribals and other vulnerable groups. Envelopes for the same are placed in the Church. Those donating by Cheques are requested to fill the details given on the Envelopes. Cheques to be drawn in favour of ‘Centre for Social Action ‘. Donors get an 80G Tax Exemption if the make a cheque or Online donation. Please be generous.
- This year the K.G. Section of St. Joseph’s Convent High School – Josebelle, is going for Online Admission for Nursery. For details kindly see the Notice Board put up at St. Joseph’s Convent High School, S. V. Road, Vile Parle West from 2nd December onwards.
- The Bible Cell of our Parish has organized a Bible Festival cum Quiz on the Gospel of St. Mathew. This will be held on Bible Sunday – 26th January from 9am to 2pm. Breakfast & lunch will be provided. PPC member can nominate 10 persons from their respective communities. This will include 6 adults, 2 Youth & 2 Sunday School Children from Std. 7th to 10th. Registration Fee is Rs. 100 per participant. Entry forms are available with Mrs. Cicily Jose which should be submitted before 10th December. Meeting of all participants on Sunday, 15th December at 9am in the Community Hall.
