TWENTY SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

2. Today is celebrated as World Day of Migrants.
3. Today, Sunday, 27th September, Deacon Ivan will meet all the Youth of our Parish at 7.30pm after the Evening Mass in the Community Hall. We urge all Youth – those who have passed SSC till the age of 25 to attend this Meeting.
4. Friday, 2nd October is the First Friday of the Month. Adoration at 6.30 pm conducted by Holy Family Community followed by the Evening Mass.
5. Next Sunday will be celebrated as Day of Thanksgiving. New Corn will be blessed at 8am at the Entrance of Velankanni Lane. Parishioners are requested to come in any traditional attire as they join in the Entrance Procession.
6. Mission Sunday will be celebrated on 18th October. As usual, envelopes will be available for your donation to the Missions. Communities and Parish Groups are requested to put up stalls to raise funds for the Missions.
7. We would like to inform all our Parishioners that since the past four years, we have not received any income from the Velankanni Recreation Center. However the Church has spent a lot of money for building an underground storage water tank, putting many Halogen Lights together with regular maintenance and electricity charges. Hence, the Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Committee have approved giving the Velankanni Recreation Center on Contract for a Paddle Ball Court. The concerned party will do up the grounds, maintain the grounds, as well as pay the electricity bills. The Church would receive around 12 Lakhs annually. For this purpose, an agreement will be drawn up keeping in mind the rights of the Church and the needs of the Community. Any Parishioner having any objection or suggestions on a better use of the grounds is requested to inform the same to any of the Parish Fathers within two Weeks.
